70 YEARS AND COUNTING
Thank-you to the Sarnia Journal for taking the time to get to know Imperial Roofing and our family background! We are pleased and excited for what is in store in the future.
Graham Dennis spent the greater part of his life putting a roof over our heads.
He did so in our homes, in the businesses that we both ran and attended as customers, and in the administrative offices, laboratories and processing buildings in the Chemical Valley that made the county and city prosper.
When Graham and partner Roy Atkin founded Imperial Roofing in the booming business days following the Second World War, they likely had little expectation that their distinctive fleet of red and cream trucks emblazoned with the roofing contractor’s familiar “Imperial triangle” logo would still be a familiar sight on county streets 70 years later.
GRAHAM DENNIS
For the past four decades, Imperial Roofing has been operated by Graham’s son, Wayne Dennis, and Wayne brother-in-law, Vaughn Berry. During that time, Imperial Roofing and its staff of 35 have established the company as a titan in its selected business category, Thousands of satisfied clients in Sarnia-Lambton’s residential, commercial and industrial sectors have lavished praise on the roofing company’s modern skills, sterling customer service, and reliability.
Imperial Roofing has built a reputation for excellence that has earned the company an A Plus rating with the Better Business Bureau and a wealth of testimonials from a legion of highly satisfied clients.
As they celebrate the considerable accomplishment of serving their community for seven decades, the prevailing theme at Imperial Roofing is one of sincere gratitude.
“This community opened its arms to Imperial Roofing as far back as the 1940s,” Wayne Dennis said recently. “My father was able to build relationships that have continued to flourish over time. Vaughn and I are so appreciative of the support that Sarnia-Lambton has given us over so many years, and the trust that the community continues to recognize in our ongoing relationships. It is very gratifying.”
Over the next two years, Imperial Roofing will be transitioning to its third era of management as Wayne and Vaughn turn over the reins to a new owner, Tom Buhlman. Wayne and Vaughn will stay with management until 2019 to ensure continuity and to introduce Tom to some of Imperial Roofing’s thousands of clients.
Tom, who is already actively involved in the company’s affairs, realizes that he is taking the helm of a Sarnia business giant.
“Wayne and Vaughn, and Wayne’s father, Graham, before them, have built an amazingly successful firm that has achieved and fostered the highest business and product standards. Operating at this level of excellence for 70 years is a tremendous accomplishment,” Tom said.
“My goal is to continue to deliver the same high level of professionalism, product quality, and client satisfaction that have become the established hallmarks of Imperial Roofing.”
